A few weeks ago we featured a story on Leafcutter Ants and their forest management skills. You can read the post here.
The story was also picked up for the Circus of the Spineless #69, a blog carnival, which was hosted by our friends at Wild About Ants. Go and check them out for other cool posts about all things invertebrates.
After we posted the story, we encountered some more Leaf Cutters hard at work, and had the chance to capture some pretty cool pictures.
Happy Friday!
Very interesting! Ann
All I can say, this view is really frightening. I hate ants!
Good thing you can view them from the comfort of your home or mobile device!
I can’t compete with the jungle! I look forward to following your journey! Hope you stop back to watch my garden grow! PS – It’s taken me 11 months to reach 6,000!
I can always watch these guys for hours – particularly from the confines of a hammock – if only I could be as organized ;)
amazing!
Wow, those guys aren’t messing around! I accidentally stepped in an anthill of some sort last summer at the lake where we keep our boat docked. Didn’t see it because of the underbrush, but then felt ’em swarming over my feet and ankles. I still have scars from those bite marks…
We often find out the hard way we are standing on ant hill trying to get a shot.
I have to follow your blog! ^.^
Thanks for the love Hareem
Those are cool pics! Nicely done.
Very interesting and great shots, as always!
